Dr. Charles Hamlin is a retired orthopedic surgeon from Denver, who received his MD degree from Columbia University. During his long career, he specialized in traumatic and reconstructive surgery of the hand. Dr. Hamlin is currently a national board member of Compassion and Choices.

In his talk—Mortality, Morality and Honor: The End of Life Paradigm—Dr. Hamlin will explore with us the present landscape of our society's attitudes about dying and death. With philosophy, humor, some data—but no dogma—he will consider the role of medicine, of religion, and our laws, in shaping our hopes and fears about death.

There will be an opportunity for comments and questions after the talk.
